Bashkir Bee Honey has both antioxidant and antibacterial properties that may help to maintain a healthy immune system. It contains vitamin C, catalase enzymes, peroxides, glucose oxydase and phenol compounds, flavonoids and carotinoids that have antioxidant properties. It contains phytoncides (essential oils) and ferments present in the nectar and pollen of flowering plants which have anti-bacterial properties. Bashkir honey also has a low acidity and water content, coupled with a high sugar content (microorganisms cannot survive in high concentrations of sugars) again indicating antibacterial properties.
